This simple treat-ment makes me feel like an Egyptian queen, getting pampered in a luxurious spa. It also opens your pores, clears your sinuses, increases concentration, boosts your immune system and decreases allergic reactions.
Boil a kettle full of water and place a bowl on your kitchen table, or coffee table (somewhere you can sit comfortably with your head bent over) and place a towel beside it. Fill the bowl with the boiling water and drop these essential oils into the water:
- 2-3 drops of Tea Tree oil – antibacterial and antifungal, great for acne, sinus congestion, respiratory function, and immune boosting
- 2-3 drops of Eucalyptus oil – fights infection, an oil used in spa steam rooms for it’s minty fresh scent, great for sinusitis, asthma, immune boosting and alertness
Clearing Your Head
This treatment literally clears your head! Patients talk about feeling rejuvenated and a sense of clarity of mind. The world looks a little more colourful, I notice smells more acutely .
What I like About It
For me, when I feel lethargic or discouraged, this treatment works wonders. Before hand, I look in the mirror and I can see that my faces looks dull and heavy. I love the cleansing aspect of this. When sweat rolls of me, it feels purifying, like my body is purging anything any unwanted or unnecessary sludge that I’ve been carrying around. Afterwards, my face not only looks fresh and rosy, but I can also see the sparkle has returned to my eyes.
Mix it Up
You might get hooked on this little treat, and make it into your saturday morning spa routine. You can use many other oils in the same way. Here are a few ideas:
- Lemon, Orange or Grapefruit
Note: pregnant women should consult with a physician before using essential oils.
